Labor of Love- Eastlake buffet makeover

This piece had definitely seen better days!  This Eastlake buffet is missing its top portion.  I'm assuming it was very ornate with carved details as Eastlake usually is.  All I have is this base with a cracked and warped top, falling off pieces and in need of some kind of refinishing.

I hemmed and hawed about how to refinish it.  My very first thought was to stain it.  Don't ask me why, I don't really do a lot of staining.  It's a lot of work, messy and stinky!

Wine bar made from a door!

My neighbor was asking me if I could come up with a bar that doesn't take up much room.  She had a small spot for it in the house and wanted to be able to bring it onto the deck for entertaining.

I started with just a solid wood door.

Dresser bench

This is my first dresser bench with sides and a back.  I have cut one all the way down and turned it into just a bench.  I've been looking for the perfect dresser to do this to and I finally found it.

Adding doors to a bookcase

I found this bookcase or cabinet at a garage sale this past week.  I had been looking for something about this size for a while.

You see, I had these really cool long narrow windows.  I could build a cabinet for them, but I never got around to it.  This cabinet was just what I needed to finally give these windows new life.
