Storage Trunk- black and white beauty

This storage trunk had seen better days.  The hinges no longer attached based on the wood being broken away, and the vinyl was a bit dated and worn.  Let's make this pretty again, shall we?

Living Room Reveal!

Some of you may remember my post asking for help with my living room.  I have been working on it, rearranging it, and have finally come to be happy with it.  The first step was to get rid of that enormous couch.

Recovering a vintage sewing stool

I received this vintage sewing stool from a friend. What a neat thing.  You don't run across many of these.

A re purposed floor lamp!

Some of you may have seen my post last week about giving a lantern a patina finish.  In that post I showed you this gorgeous succulent planter.
Get green scene ambiance at light speed with a succulent-filled lantern. For this look, we used raffia to anchor a ball of floral foam to the metal. Then we tucked in a variety of stems, along with bits of made-to-dangle greenery. To finish, we added diamond picks and hanging gems.

A new kitchen floor

Hello all!  I haven't gotten any new projects done that are worth talking about.  I have been busy tearing out old flooring and carpet, not to mention the staples!  We just had our kitchen and living room flooring replaced with hardwood.  Wow what a difference it makes.  I have been sharing the updates I have been doing in my kitchen so I thought you would like to see this final step.

I have already shown you how I did a wallpaper back splash and how I painted my kitchen cabinets.  This is the kitchen before the new flooring.

Here is the after.  I love it!  We chose cherry hickory and had it installed over Friday and Saturday.  I will be sharing my living room another time.  I am working on a few things to complete it first.  If you have hard wood floors, what do you use to clean them?  I would love to hear it.

Fun settee makeover

I have wanted to do a whimsical and fun upholstery job for some time and finally got the chance.  I was asked to make over this settee with various fabrics to give it a new look.

Upholstering a wing back chair

In my opinion, a wing back is one of the hardest chairs to upholster.  Lots of pieces, piping, sewing, etc.  In this case I lucked out since I didn't have to sew a cushion, but still had lots of pieces and piping.  Follow along as I make over this wing back.

Lantern gets a patina finish

I picked up this old lantern from a garage sale last summer.  I finally got around to deciding how to paint it.  I purchased this paint kit from Michael's , it's a patina antiquing set and it was on clearance!

Gold dipped end tables

I didn't really have anything new and exciting to show you.  I thought I would share these end tables.  There is no before photo so you will have to imagine them in a worn cherry finish.
