Caged plate stand

I am falling into the birdcage love, especially the antique ones.  I decided to add a beautiful birdcage graphic to a plate stand I made.

My living room- my headache space

I admit it, I need help!  We have lived in our house almost 6 years and I still have yet to figure this room out. Arrrrgh.  It is an odd layout with a low window, fireplace, open kitchen entry, etc.

Take a look:

His and Hers towel hooks

There are so many ways to re purpose cabinet doors.  You have chalkboards, quote boards, and more.  With these I decided to go a different route than I have went before.  It all started with this end table.

Copy cat hook

While browsing through Joanne Etc the other day, I ran across a neat little hook (or 2).  I knew I could copy them so I set out to do just that.

Salvaged chair legs to bench

About 6 months ago I found a broken chair curbside.  The legs were nice and curvy so I grabbed it.  What do you know, last week I found a twin!  Since I now have 4 matching legs, it is time to do something with them.

Classic black- twin chair makeover

I was asked to recover these old chairs for someone.  I'm sure they were lovely in their prime, but it was time for a change.  The faded and stained fabric had to go.

Rustic to shabby box

A friend of mine gave me this rustic box.  She said she was done with it.  Don't you just love it when that happens?

Dark rich chair makeover

I amaze myself.  Not because I did anything amazing, but because I decided not to paint this piece.  Are you amazed?  I usually paint everything.  There are lots of reasons to paint a piece.  Lots of pieces I come across just have to be painted.   Some just look better painted, and I love painted furniture.
I picked up this chair this past weekend at an estate sale.  It was in great condition except for the cushions.  That is an easy fix.

Verse of the week boards

Happy beginning of the week!  I try my best to add scripture to our daily lives.  I have a chalkboard in my kitchen I write a weekly Bible verse or one of the 10 commandments on.  This is a great reminder for my family and it helps to teach my kids some verses that are worth memorizing.
I wanted to make some actual verse of the week boards and here is what I came up with.

Ruffle ottoman makeover

Yet another drop cloth makeover here.  I don't ever tire of them either.  The fabric is durable, affordable and neutral.  What more could you ask for?  How about a free ottoman to makeover with the dropcloth?

Perfect.

Every Good and Perfect Gift photo display

There is just something about this Bible quote that touches me.  I have an ornament with this on it and I love putting it in the front of the tree every year.  It is a perfect quote to go with a photo display.  We are all so thankful for our children, it fits perfectly.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above." James 1:17

I took the end of a table I had cut off to make this sign.  The other section of the table was used for this two tone dresser.
I painted it white with primer and paint.  I then printed off this Bible verse and traced it onto the board.  Painted over the trace marks with black paint.

Crib bench

I have a few of these headboards and crib parts still so I decided this winter to try to build them all.  I won't post them all, but I thought I would show you this one.
The first bench I made from the end of a crib turned out great so I knew I would make it again.
I won't go into all the details on this one since I did a very thorough tutorial on the first one.
