Craftin' it up for Valentine's Day

I did manage to get a few Valentine's Day crafts done so I thought I would share them all at once.  No reason to spread them out since they have the same

I had some hearts I had gotten from Michaels.  They had these cute little hooks on them.  The best part?  Only .25 cents each!  I used the hooks for other projects...hey, when can you get hooks for a quarter?  Can't pass them up.  I wasn't sure what to do with these hearts so I just started with some paint.
Here is how they came out:

Antique Couch- a new life, a new WOW!

I have been working on this project for a week.  I am so excited to share with you today this antique couch makeover.  This was done for a customer, but I so wish I could keep it.  I will be keeping my eyes out for one so I can have one like this!

A few little projects

I have a huge project reveal coming for you next week.  Until then, little projects are just going to have to do.  Today I will share with you some of those smaller projects I have done, but just haven't shared.

A new twist on hair bow organizers

Today my daughter says, "Mom, I want summer."  Me too, me too! It's still a ways off, but she is feeling closed in, due to the ice, snow, below freezing temps, and let's see...more snow.  Now she is sick and can't go outside, so I can understand where she is coming from.

To ward off that feeling in myself, I have been super busy with projects.  A lot of repeats, benches, rustic signs, etc that don't need to be repeated on here.  I have also been busy filling in special orders, which brings us to today's post.

I had an order for a hair bow holder.  Nothing new, simple to do, but this one needed to be Minnie Mouse themed.

Birdhouse decor

Being indoors for the winter can sometimes be a good thing.  For one, I am forcing myself to get to some of the little pieces for projects that are causing some clutter in my work space.  This birdhouse and candle stand was one of those things. (This will help me make room for all the fabulous garage sale finds in a few months ;)

Sunburst mirror

As I am going through and trying to use what I have in my house, I find what I need to make a sunburst mirror.  I know these have been around for a long time.  I had already made one years back, but I had these chandelier pieces still and they needed to be made into clear up some clutter on these cold, snowy, blustery days.

Tufted ottoman from a coffee table

Before we get started, I have to tell you I love tufted ottomans.  This one is inspired by the one Addicted to Decorating did just recently.  Only, mine is made from a curbside coffee table base.  She made hers from scratch so if you haven't seen it, be sure to stop over and take a look.  It is amazing!
Anyways, this coffee table base was in my basement the first time I saw her ottoman she built.  I knew as soon as I saw it, I was going to use that base for this ottoman.  Except, I like the lighter colors of her inspiration.

Rustic french postage coat rack

I had this piece of wood that was taken off the top of the two tone dresser I did last summer.  I knew with its rustic look, it would make a great sign of some sort.

Neat little key rack

If you haven't noticed yet, I am full of reinventing the country decor I have collected.  This one, I'm not even sure what it originally was.  With some simple rearranging, you can update that country decor.

Later country

I have yet another country heart piece. 2 actually. They have been sitting as well, while I contemplate what to do with them.  Then a friend of mine sent me a picture of something she found online and wanted something similar made.  This piece would work perfectly.

Chippy chair

You ever hold onto something, just waiting for the inspiration or the burning desire to do something with it because you are sick of walking past it?  This is that project for me.  This chair has been just sitting.  It is sturdy, cute and dated.  It just needed something...but what?

Coffee table makeover- no sanding and no wax!

I trust everyone brought in the new year safely, and now we're all ready to go?  I sure am.

This coffee table was given to me by a neighbor in order to make room for mom moving in.  Thanks, neighbor!  At first I really wanted to do an ottoman with it, but after looking at the height it would have turned out too high.  I didn't want to cut the legs, either, so I ended up painting it.  I used Palace Grey and Creamy Linen from Farmhouse Paint.  The best part?  No prep work and no wax!
