Simple table makeover

This Duncan Phyfe table had seen better days.  Even though the top was in great shape, the supports weren't.


You can see here it is missing the support that connects the top together.
It didn't have a leaf so I decided to just connect it with a 2x4.
Here is a shot of the top.  Besides being dirty, it was in good shape with lots of shine!
I flipped the table over and wiped it down to prep for painting.    It is easiest to paint the base of a table or chair when it is upside down.  In this case I used kilz as a primer then painted it with a white latex paint.
The white base adds just enough to make this table updated. The contrast is stunning. 
Simple and easy.   Sometimes less is more.
