Rustic frames

I am once again going to show you a project made with leftover pieces from a bench I picked up.  Since I picked up this bench, I have gotten extra storage, built a bench, used pieces for a hall tree, and now I am making frames.
Talk about a lot that can be done with pieces of a broken bench.

Tin can to mosaic planter

The first day of spring has officially arrived.  I am itching to be able to get out and dig in the dirt.  Since it is still a little cold here in Michigan, that isn't going to happen.  Instead I will make a planter for something to grow in.

Message center from cabinet door

I was gifted this cabinet door, actually 2 of them.  Solid wood and a perfect candidate for a message center.

Hand stamped ottoman

Ok, so I have done ottomans before and I wanted to try something different this time.  I came across this one that needed a makeover, bad.  It looked like it lost 20 pounds and was still wearing its original cover.

Make your own corbel with scraps

I have some moulding and scrap wood that I keep in a pile.  I am not very thorough in photos for this project as I was simply trying something out to see if it would work.  I am happy with the results, so I am sharing it with you.

Drawers turned doll beds and storage

Like most girls my daughter loves to play with her dolls.  Where do you put all this stuff?  I used 2 drawers to make some beds and a doll closet.

The bunk beds were created by adding a shelf in the middle and decoupaging some scrapbook paper to the back. You can fancy it up by adding cute knobs on the bottom for furniture feet.  I made this a while back, but just added the closet portion.
The closet was made by adding some picture frame wire to hold the hangers.  It is what I had on hand, so I went with it. You could make it with a dowel as well.  I put 1 screw in each side and wrapped the wire around the screw.  Tighten it around the wire and there you have a hanging solution.
So many things you can do with old drawers.  For more ideas you can visit my other posts on reusing drawers.

Naturally coated end table

I have a new (to me anyways) product I used on this end table.  I know wax is all the rage right now, but it is a lot of work, not to mention stinky and harmful.  I stumbled across a natural and made in Vermont, USA product that I just have to share with you.
Vermont Natural Coatings has made a product that works and is healthier to use.

Headboard bench stained with vinegar

Yes, this title is correct.  I used vinegar  and steel wool to stain the bench seat.  Lets get started and I will show you how it went.

It all started with this twin headboard.  Yes, that green blob is gum!  Lovely...good thing it was easy to get off.

Fancy key rack

I had some frames in my kitchen that had scrap book paper in them and they have come down.  I am reusing them to make some decorative key racks.

Use a drawer for a wall shelf

Just in case you didn't know, I love to reuse things.  This drawer re purpose is no exception.  I found it with some other drawers last summer in a free pile at a garage sale.  Score!

Radio cabinet

Before I get started on telling you about this makeover, I have to tell you about this cabinet.  I found it last summer at a garage sale...for $3!  SOLD!  It had a few issues with some bubbles in the veneer and the cabinet was gutted and not in great condition inside.

Another Tazo canister makeover

I told you in my last tazo post that I had a lot of these canisters.  Well,  I wanted to do a few others, but different this time.

Grab some scrapbook paper and some mod podge and give this a try!
1. Simply cut a piece of scrapbook paper to fit your can (note the 12x12 paper will not fit a canister all the way around so cut an extra rectangle or use a contrasting piece)
2. smear some mod podge on the canister
3. stick the paper on
4. cover  with mod podge
5. add cute little decorative feet, ribbons, or whatever you want

Next will be the task of filling these jars for my bathroom or maybe some herbs to grow in the kitchen...

Clementine box to bed

Sometimes I just hate to throw out things.  The perfectly good boxes that clementines come in are no exception.  I had 2 that I had saved.  The other day my daughter was playing with some barbies and said she needed beds.  Awesome, I can do that!

This roadside pick up was in sad shape with all but 2 drawers broken.  See what I did with the broken drawers here.

Bar stool to trellis

I have spring on my mind as I am sure so many of you do.  I am very excited this year, more than others.  This is due to the fact that I have lots of plans for my garden this year.  I am trying winter sowing for the first time and am excited to see the results.  As I am thinking about everything I have started to sow and how to lay out my garden, I am finding out that I need more trellis'.  What can I make?  (without spending $ on it)

Here is my solution.  I like the wrought iron trellis' I have seen, so I am attempting to make one out of a bar stool I picked up.

I'll take it!
